Summer Institute
As a first-time freshman admitted for the Fall term,
Summer Institute will provide you with the opportunity
to spend five weeks of your summer in San Luis Obispo,
located on the beautiful central coast of California,
establishing long-lasting friendships with other freshmen,
getting to know the campus and the quaint San Luis Obispo
community and completing 6-8 units of university (baccalaureate)
credit. If getting an early head start on your Cal Poly
career interests you, check out Summer Institute at

SI will provide you with a closely knit, learning community.
Former participants have shared that after SI they have
felt more comfortable about attending Cal Poly and better
prepared for their first full quarter in the fall. You
are encouraged to visit the SI website and browse through
detailed student testimonials. Since 1984, Cal Poly
has been offering this excellent opportunity for new

Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.
Application Process:
- Apply for admission to the University (deadline is November 30)
- Be a first-time freshman selected for admissions
for the Fall
- Download, complete and submit the Summer Institute registration form (available at www.sas.calpoly.edu/si)

Scholarships are available. Student must file the FAFSA
