Description

As part of Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology’s mission the College has provided the Thaddeus Stevens Legacy grant to afford financially disadvantaged students an education at no cost.  Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology's Board of Trustees recently changed the name of this award to more accurately reflect the purpose of the award. The new name of the award is “Stevens Grant”. The same criteria to become eligible for the “Stevens Grant” and the costs that the “Stevens Grant” covers, remains the same

The Stevens Grant assists those students that are financially disadvantaged. To be eligible, students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Those that qualify for the Federal Pell Grant will be awarded the Stevens Grant. Students may receive the Stevens Grant for a maximum of 4 semesters. Students that are admitted to the college as a developmental student, may receive the Stevens Grant for a maximum of 6 semesters. Resident students who receive this award will have the following charges; Tuition, Room, and a 7-day meal plan. All Financial Aid that the student receives; eg. Federal Pell Grant, PHEAA State Grant, or any outside scholarships will be applied to the students account first. The Stevens Grant will then cover any remaining charges. Students will also receive a $250.00 per semester book allowance. Commuting students who receive this award will have the following charges; Tuition and a 5-day meal plan. All Financial Aid that the student receives; eg. Federal Pell Grant, PHEAA State Grant, or any outside scholarships will be applied to the students account first. The Stevens Grant will then cover any remaining charges. Students will also receive a $250.00 per semester book allowance.

Application Process To apply for the Stevens Grant, students would simply need to fill out the FAFSA information, as well as apply to Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology.  Upon acceptance to the college and recognition of receipt of PELL money based on FAFSA, a student would then be eligible for the award.
