Description

Are you looking for something exciting and challenging to do this summer? Maybe you should consider the Elmhurst College Summer Academy in Mathematics and Science.

 

The Academy (held traditionally in July) is an exceptional two-week residential program for high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors who want to expand their horizons and explore math and science topics with college professors at one of the best colleges in the Midwest. For two weeks, you will stay on Elmhurst College's gorgeous campus, while taking classes and seminars to sharpen your math skills, explore important topics in science, and master a variety of computer programs.

There is no deadline or fee to apply, but space is limited and decisions will be made on a rolling basis, so don't wait. In addition to your application, you will need to contact your high school counselor to request a copy of your official transcripts and you will need a recommendation from your math or science instructor. If accepted into the program, a $200 registration fee covers the cost of all your classes, meals, and on-campus housing, and grants you access to all Elmhurst College facilities for the two week program. College credit for the program is also available at an additional expense.

Description These scholarships range in value from $16,000/yr to $20,000/yr and require the maintenance of a 3.25 grade-point average and full-time enrollment for renewal. Generally speaking, Presidential Scholars will have excelled in a challenging high school curriculum including a number of advanced placement and honors courses and will have consistently demonstrated superior academic performance in all measures at the high school level.

Description These scholarships are offered to qualified freshmen and transfer students who are members of traditionally underrepresented groups at the College. The scholarship is not limited by race or ethnicity.  The award is valued at $9,000/yr and recipients must be enrolled on a full-time, degree-seeking basis. The scholarship is renewable for up to four years, provided the recipient maintains full-time enrollment and a cumulative grade-point average of 2.5 or above.

Description Elmhurst offers one-third-tuition scholarships valued at $9,090 for the 2009-2010 academic year to freshmen and transfer students who belong to congregations of the United Church of Christ. These scholarships are renewable each year, provided that the recipient remains enrolled full time and in good standing at the College.
Application Process To receive consideration, ask your pastor to submit a letter of nomination and UCC membership to the Director of Financial Aid by May 1.
